Come and Sing Online:
Featuring a new piece by Anthony Gray dedicated to those who need our prayers at this time
Following the tremendous success of our Come and SIng Online 'Stainer' recreating the story of Jesus' crucifixion, we decided to make the next event an interactive Come and Sing.
Faure's Requiem is one of the nation's most loved works, sung by choral societies, choirs and schools across the country. In addition to the Requiem, Anthony Gray, a finalist in the BBC Radio 3 Carol Competition composed a new piece which was premiered and sung at the Come and Sing.
This event has now happened with over 100 people signing up from all over the world including Italy, Singapore, USA, Netherlands and many more! We hope you are all safe and keeping well throughout these difficult times. We understand this is a lonely time, feel free to contact us if you are shielding for a chat about music, singing or anything else!
Here is some of the feedback we received from this event:
''Getting to sing some nice music, despite lockdown. I hadn't sung the Fauré Requiem before, so it was good to finally learn it. Anthony Gray's new piece was also lovely.''
''Caius' manner of training and directing us. I felt I was singing much better; and also understanding and appreciating the music much better.''
''The opportunity to sing 'with' other people. I'm really missing making music in the real world. Opportunities like this are so important. The session was well-led and well-organised. I particularly enjoyed the new piece of music.''
''Thank you very much for the hard work and effort! Singing Faure Requiem again after many years brought back so many wonderful memories. It is a beautiful piece of music and a very good choice''
